On Thursday, March 28, the Democrats of Rossmoor will hold their monthly general meeting at the Event Center. Following a brief meeting at 7:00pm, Betty Yee will be the featured speaker. She will share her assessment of where California stands after the March primary election.
Betty Yee has announced her intention to run for Governor in 2026. With more than 35 years experience in California governance, she brings an informed perspective on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for California. In November of 2014, Yee was elected State Controller and served two terms as the state’s chief fiscal officer. Prior to that, she served two terms on the California Board of Equalization. She was the Chief Deputy Director for Budget in the California Department of Finance for Governor Gray Davis where she led the development of the Governor’s budget and the negotiations with the Legislature. She also held senior staff positions on several fiscal and policy committees in both houses of the California State Legislature.
