On Monday, May 6, at 3:00pm in MPR 2, the Democrats of Rossmoor book club will discuss two small books by Sarah Johnson: Breaking the Ice Ceiling, How the Icelandic Woman’s Day Strike Shattered Patriarchy and UBI and Beyond, Creating an Equitable Future.
Of the first book the publisher writes: “Breaking the Ice Ceiling: How the Icelandic Women’s Day Strike Shattered Patriarchy is a captivating book that explores the impact of the Icelandic Women’s Day Strike on gender equality and women’s rights. This strike, which took place in 1975, was a momentous event that changed the course of history for women in Iceland and beyond.
