Milli Atkinson is the Legal Director of the San Francisco Immigrant Legal Defense Collaborative (SFILDC), a collaboration of sixteen San Francisco legal service organizations. SFILDC offers its clients a variety of services including legal representation and both fiscal and technical expertise. Some of their clients have recently arrived, fleeing violence and persecution. Others have lived in this country many years but have family members with a different immigration status. The organization is funded by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development.
Sergio Jaime Lopez is the Community Defender Coordinator for the Contra Costa Immigrant Rights Alliance (CCIRA). CCIRA was founded in 2017 by community-based and legal organizations. The following is their mission statement: “To strengthen and unite our efforts to end ICE collaboration in the whole county and to increase our capacity to do this. Share knowledge and resources with one another to move city and county initiatives to protect immigrants and secure immigrant rights. Build rapid response infrastructure for the county. To help advocate and implement State laws (to influence how electeds vote and how they support the laws that protect immigrants around our State.)”
